NEW! “Mastering Mentoring” (eLearning) for Mentors and Mentees
We are happy to announce the latest addition to our eLearning portfolio. “Mastering Mentoring” is a course designed to strengthening mentoring culture by supporting both mentors and mentees to build effective, inclusive and rewarding relationships. You will develop practical skills in active listening, feedback, reflection and goal setting, building confidence and supporting professional growth across the research community.

Scholarship (individual fellowship) for doctoral projects by the Landesgraduiertenförderung at the Kunsthistorisch - Application deadline: 30-09-2026
The Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts of Baden‑Württemberg provides a scholarship for doctoral projects in Art History from the Landesgraduiertenförderung Program. Eligible projects are doctoral projects whose research focus is on the art history of Italy and the Mediterranean region from late antiquity to the modern era.

The Graduate Academy Service Center can help you with most general questions about doctoral training. For questions regarding the academic requirements and formalities specific to your subject, you should contact the doctoral office of your faculty. In cases of conflict, doctoral candidates can contact the ombudspersons for confidential advice and mediation.

Käthe Leichter Forum
The Käthe Leichter Forum offers doctoral researchersand staff of Heidelberg University various seminar rooms and co-working spaces for reservation.
Käthe Leichter (1895–1942) is the eponym of the Center for Doctoral Researchers at Heidelberg University. The social scientist received her doctorate from Heidelberg University. As a pioneer of the modern women's movement she was involved in political resistance against the Nazi regime and became a victim of National Socialist

Funding
The Graduate Academy regularly offers funding lines of the heiDOCS 2.0 program and awards grants by the Landesgraduiertenförderung. Updates on call for applications are also published in our newsletter.

The Graduate Academy offers workshops tailored to all stages of your doctoral studies and we have information about courses offered by other facilities at the university. Graduate schools and structured doctoral programs can also book courses with us that are specially customized for the needs of their doctoral candidates.
