Promotionsstipendium der Landesgraduiertenförderung im Bereich der historischen Antiziganismusforschung

Liebe Doktorandinnen und Doktoranden,

am Historischen Seminar der Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg (Zentrum für Europäische Geschichts- und Kulturwissenschaften) wird an der Forschungsstelle Antiziganismus zum 1. Februar 2024 ein Promotionsstipendium im Bereich der historischen Antiziganismusforschung vergeben.  

Bewerbungsschluss für das Stipendium ist der 31. Oktober 2023.

Das Forschungsprojekt soll im Bereich der historischen Antiziganismusforschung (19. oder 20. Jahrhundert) verortet sein, wobei interdisziplinäre Ansätze ausdrücklich erwünscht sind. Mögliche Themenfelder sind:

• Gesellschaftliche Entstehungsbedingungen und geistig-ideologische Grundlagen antiziganistischer Vorurteilsbildung
• Soziale Praktiken und politische Handlungsmuster des Antiziganismus in nationalen, regionalen oder lokalen Kontexten; Formen des institutionellen Antiziganismus
• Widerständige Praktiken und emanzipatorische Strategien von Betroffenen des Antiziganismus
• (Inter-)Mediale Repräsentationen und Tradierungswege des Antiziganismus (einschließlich Gegenstrategien)

Die Stipendiat:innen werden in den wissenschaftlichen Dialog innerhalb der Forschungsstelle Antiziganismus einbezogen und profitieren vom Austausch mit anderen Forschenden. Deshalb ist eine Anwesenheit während der Vorlesungszeiten erwünscht.

Das Stipendium in Höhe von 1.468 Euro monatlich wird zunächst für zwei Jahre vergeben, die Verlängerung um ein drittes Jahr ist auf Antrag möglich.

Voraussetzungen:

• Abgeschlossenes Hochschulstudium
• Überdurchschnittlicher Studienabschluss

Antragsteller müssen einreichen:

• eine Skizze von 4-5 Seiten (plus Literaturliste), mit Situierung des Dissertationsprojekts im aktuellen Forschungskontext; Forschungshypothesen und Zielen; sowie Quellenbständen
• einen Arbeits- und Zeitplan
• eine Übersicht zum bisherigen Studienverlauf und zu Studienabschlüssen
• eine Kopie des Hochschulzeugnisses sowie ein tabellarischer Lebenslauf
• ein Gutachten von einem/einer Hochschullehrer:in ist erwünscht

Bewerbungen von qualifizierten Nachwuchswissenschaftler:innen aus den Communities der Sinti und Roma sind besonders willkommen.

Doctoral fellowship of the Landesgraduiertenförderung in the field of historical antiziganism research

 

Dear doctoral candidates, 

At the Department of History of the Ruprecht-Karls-University Heidelberg (Center for European History and Cultural Studies), a doctoral fellowship in the field of historical antiziganism research will be awarded at the Research Unit Antiziganism as of February 1, 2024.

The application deadline for the scholarship is October 31, 2023.

The research project should be located in the field of historical research on Antiziganism (19th or 20th century), whereby interdisciplinary approaches are explicitly welcome. Possible topics are:

• Social preconditions for the development and intellectual-ideological foundations of antiziganist prejudice
• Social practices and political action patterns of antiziganism in national, regional or local contexts; forms of institutional antiziganism
• Resistant practices and emancipatory strategies of people affected by antiziganism
• (Inter-)media representations and ways of transmission of antiziganism (including counter-strategies)

The fellows will be included in the scientific dialogue within the Research Center Antiziganism and will benefit from the interaction with other researchers. Therefore, attendance during the lectures is desired.

The scholarship of 1,468 € per month will initially be awarded for two years, extension for a third year is possible on application. The fellowship will begin on February 1, 2024.

Requirements:

• University degree
• Above average acamedic record

Applicants must submit:

• an outline of 4-5 pages (plus bibliography), situating the dissertation project in the current research context; research hypotheses and objectives; and source materials
• a time table and work plan
• an overview of the previous academic career and degrees
• a copy of the university transcript and a curriculum vitae in tabular form
• a letter of recommendation from a university lecturer is welcome
