Liebe Doktorandinnen und Doktoranden,
wie können wir die Herausforderungen nachhaltiger Entwicklung am besten bewältigen? Und welchen Beitrag leisten junge Wissenschaftler:innen durch ihre Forschung? Die Veranstaltungsreihe „Contributing To The World’s To Do List – Heidelberger Doktorandinnen und Doktoranden stellen sich vor“, finanziert durch die Stadt-Heidelberg-Stiftung und konzipiert durch die Graduiertenakademie der Universität Heidelberg, nimmt diese Fragen in den Fokus. Nach dem Auftakt zu unserer neuen Reihe im Juli freuen wir uns nun die nächste Bewerbungsrunde zu eröffnen.
Die Veranstaltung im Wintersemester 2023/24 ist dem UN-Nachhaltigkeitsziel 3 „Gesundheit und Wohlergehen“ (SDG 3) gewidmet und wird am 01.02.2024, ab 16:00 Uhr stattfinden. Hat Ihr Forschungsvorhaben einen Bezug zu SDG3? Wenn Sie Ihre wissenschaftliche Idee vorstellen möchten, bewerben Sie sich um einen Kurzvortrag (max. 15 min). Es stehen fünf Vortragsplätze zur Verfügung. Falls Sie sich als Team oder Kleingruppe bewerben möchten, machen Sie uns bitte im Rahmen Ihrer jeweiligen Einzelbewerbung darauf aufmerksam.
Die Vortragssprache ist vorzugsweise deutsch. Vortragende, deren Muttersprache nicht Deutsch ist, können ihren Vortrag auf Englisch halten. In diesem Fall wird während der Veranstaltung eine Simultanübersetzung ins Deutsche angeboten.
Alle Vortragenden erhalten über die Graduiertenakademie und finanziert von der Stadt-Heidelberg-Stiftung jeweils einen Reise- bzw. Sachkostenzuschuss i.H.v. € 300 pro Person.

CfA „Contributing To The World’s To Do List – Heidelberg Doctoral Students Introduce Themselves“ – deadline: Oct. 15, 2023
Dear doctoral candidates,
How can we best meet the challenges of sustainable development? And how do young scientists contribute to this through their research? The event series "Contributing To The World's To Do List – Heidelberg Doctoral Students Introduce Themselves", financed by the Stadt-Heidelberg-Stiftung and organized by the Graduate Academy of Heidelberg University, is taking a closer look at these questions. Following the launch of our new event series in July, we are pleased to announce the next round of applications.
The event in the winter semester 2023/24 will be dedicated to the UN Sustainable Development Goal 3 "Health and Wellbeing" (SDG 3) and will take place on February 1, 2024 starting at 4:00 pm. Is your research project related to SDG 3? If so, we would invite you to apply to give a short presentation (max. 15 min) about your research. There are five presentation slots available. If you would like to apply as a team or small group, please indicate this in your application.
Because the event will be open to the general public, we would prefer the presentations to be in German. Speakers whose native language is not German may give their presentations in English and simultaneous translation into German will be provided during the event.
Each speaker will receive a grant of € 300 that can be used at a later date for travel or materials related to their doctoral project. These grants are funded by the Stadt-Heidelberg-Stiftung and provided through the Graduate Academy.

- your topic proposal/short synopsis including an outline of how and why your topic is relevant to the UN Sustainable Development Goal 3 "Health and Well-Being" (SDG 3) (max. three pages)
