LERU Doctoral Summer School 2016 „Data Stewardship for Scientific Discovery and Innovation”

Die diesjährige Doctoral Summer School der „League of European Research Universities“  (LERU) findet vom 10.-15. Juli 2016 an der Universität Leiden statt. Sie richtet sich an herausragende Doktorandinnen und Doktoranden, die in ihrer Promotion fortgeschritten sind. Die genaueren Informationen entnehmen Sie bitte hier.

 

Die Universität Heidelberg hat als Mitglied der LERU die Möglichkeit, 1 bis 2 Doktoranden/innen zu dieser Summer School zu entsenden. Die Auswahl erfolgt durch die Graduiertenakademie unter den Kandidaten, die durch ihre Betreuer/innen vorgeschlagen werden.

 

Die Betreuer/innen und Institute werden gebeten, ihre Vorschläge für geeignete Kandidaten mit folgenden Informationen bis zum 15.03.2016 an die Graduiertenakademie (graduiertenakademie@zuv.uni-heidelberg.de) mit folgenden Unterlagen zu senden:

  • Empfehlungsschreiben des Betreuers/der Betreuerin (auf Englisch)
  • Lebenslauf und Anschreiben des Doktoranden/der Doktorandin, mit einer Kurzbeschreibung des Promotionsthemas (auf Englisch)

Die Informationen sollten insgesamt nicht mehr als 4 Seiten umfassen.

 

Die Teilnahme an der Summer School wird von der Graduiertenakademie durch ein Reisestipendium  unterstützt (voraussichtlich durch Übernahme der Teilnahmegebühr).

LERU Doctoral Summer School 2016 „Data Stewardship for Scientific Discovery and Innovation”

 

This year’s Doctoral Summer School of the “League of European Research Universities” (LERU) will take place at the University of Leiden, July 10 to 15, 2016. The summer school is aimed at doctoral students at an advanced stage of their training. Detailed information is available here.

 

As a member of LERU, Heidelberg University can send 1 or 2 doctoral students to the summer school. The Graduate Academy will select the final participants from the group of candidates recommended by their doctoral supervisors.

 

Supervisors and institutes should send their recommendations to the Graduate Academy (graduiertenakademie@zuv.uni-heidelberg.de) at the latest by March 15, 2016 with the following documents:

  • Letter of recommendation from the doctoral supervisor (in English)
  • Curriculum vitae and motivation letter from the doctoral student including a short description of the doctoral project. (in English)

The application should not be longer than 4 pages.

 

Participation in the summer school will be supported by the Graduate Academy with a travel grant (possibly covering the participation fee).
